Birds, birds everywhere

I was on the phone with BreAnna this morning and she said "Are you in an aviary?" I was just sitting in my kitchen with the back door open. We do get an extreme amount of birds in our backyard. While Calvin and I were running through the sprinklers and playing baseball we noticed a bird in a nest in our tree. And my neighbor pointed out that she has a hummingbird nest in her tree. Calvin got really excited when we told him there would be baby birds in the nest one day.

This is the nest in our tree.

Isn't this the littlest, cutest nest you have ever seen. It is so cool to see the hummingbird sit in it. I will try to get a picture of her, she just doesn't stay put for long.

Calvin loves playing in the sprinklers. It provides hours of fun in the hot sun.

Lily eating her cake

I couldn't get the first video to upload. So, here is the last part of the video, this is where she really gets into it.

Lily's Birthday Bash

Lily's first birthday was on Sunday and we wanted to throw a little party for her. So we invited our immediate family and a couple of others and before you know it we have a yard full of people. We love having little parties turn into big parties because we have such great family and friends. And cute little Lily bug didn't even realize it was all for her. My aunt Bambie made her a beautiful Lily Bug cake and everyone brought food and we just had a good time hanging out in the yard. Lily opened one baby doll present and pretty much forgot about everything else. She was so cute about eating her cake. One lick here and one lick there and then she got really into it. You can check it out in the video. Happy Birthday little girl, we all love you more than you know!

My Lily bug is 1

Oh my goodness, how time flies! I get happy and sad when I think that Lily is already 1. She is such a sweet little girl. We all love her to pieces. I can't get enough of her little face. Sometimes I just stare at her because I think she is so precious and beautiful. Lily loves to eat anything we give her and she loves to feed herself. She absolutely loves Calvin, she follows him everywhere and tries to do everything he does. Her vocabulary consists of Mama, Dada, hi, baba, uh-oh, and blowing bubbles. She is not quite walking on her own, she holds onto furniture or our fingers to walk, she can stand alone so I know it is coming. She can go up and down stairs by herself and she loves to play with toys. We love our little Lily bug. At Lily's one year Doctor appt. she weighed 18 lbs 15 oz which is in the 10% and she is 29 inches tall which is the 50%. Here is a look back at the last year.

6-22-2007 Lily is born at 4:58 a.m.

1 month old, this is my very favorite picture

That was short lived

Yes, our little fish Flounder passed away the day after we got him. Jon flushed him down the toilet. When Jon told Calvin all he could say is "That is sooo sad mom." Oh well, what do you do? I think the longest living carnival won Gold fish is somewhere between 3 and 5 days!

Backyard Picnic

We love having picnics in the backyard, we do this a few times a week. Today Calvin requested pizza sandwiches for lunch. After lunch I always have to push the kids on the swing 800 times before they let me have a break and then I watch them go up and down the slide. Take a look.

Our first pet

Yes, we finally broke down and got a pet! We won him at the carnival yesterday. Well we didn't really win him but the guy running the game felt bad and gave him to us anyways. He is a Gold fish that Calvin named Flounder. This is probably one of the only pets we will have because Jon is allergic to anything that has hair, so I figured we had better take a picture.

Don't mind the mess in this picture, I just liked the lighting better :)

Calvin caught off guard

I started recording Calvin singing the Abc's and he did not know I was there. I am pretty sure I have posted him singing the abc's before but this was too cute not to post. From the surprise look on his face, to him saying lmnop twice and the upside down jacket he is just funny little Calvin.

Carnival Fun

My friend Jeri and I decided to take our kids to the carnival in Orem on Saturday. They had a blast. They went on a lot of rides, had their fair share of sno cones, and Calvin keeps on asking when we can go back. I think we will take him to the Pleasant Grove Carnival this weekend. We love summertime.
