Potty Training week

It is official, no more diapers for Calvin. We started potty training this week and things are going pretty well. He has only had a few accidents. One was in the shopping cart while at Wal-mart, yuk! After soaking himself a couple of times he seems to be learning pretty fast. We decided to just let him sleep in underwear instead confusing him with diapers at night. He hasn't even wet the bed once (it has only been 3 nights, but I think that is pretty good, I still have to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night myself!) Any advice you may have is greatly appreciated.

Calvin's room

I have been wanting to do something with that blue wall for a while and this is what I came up with. Let me know what you think. It has taken a while to get it this far, now all it needs is some curtains. And yes, Calvin is asleep in the bed, he fell asleep while we were hanging the frames, silly boy.

Hard Worker

Calvin loves his Digger pit out by our garden. I went out there and he said "Mom, I have hard work to do. It is going to take me a long time to fill up this bucket. " His obsession with dressing up is still in full force, I think it is so funny. Everyday he has to have his boots, belt, hat, gloves, cape, sword, tool belt, and tools handy to be whatever he wants to be that day. From Bob the builder to Prince Egward (Edward on Enchanted) to many other princes and characters.

He also loves to sing, sometimes primary songs like I am a Child of God, sometimes fun kids songs, but lately he has been on an Old Rock kick. He loves to sing "LA Woman" by The Doors. He sings at the top of his lungs "MOJO RISINT" yes, you read that right. Not mojo risin', it is mojo risint. Jon loves to hear Calvin sing it so he plays this song every time we get in the truck.

And just one more little story about Calvin. We have kind of been potty training him for a year now, but none of us are super motivated. He was really getting good before we moved and then it all went down hill from there, he was holding on to those diapers for dear life. But we are definitely for sure potty training in June, I think ;). So he has been stubborn about the whole thing, he knows when he has to go, he tells us when and then he refuses to sit on the toilet. But the other day he was in his room, suppose to be sleeping, and I hear his door open. I go upstairs and ask "Calvin, what are you doing?" Calvin replies, "Mom, there is a mountain in my diaper. A big poop mountain in my diaper." Sure enough, I have never seen a poop that looked more like a mountain. He had me laughing so hard. Please share any and all potty training tips for a toddler who knows exactly what he's doing!

Megan's hat party

My sister-in-law Megan threw this really fun, girly hat party. It was kind of like a tea party without the tea. All of the girls in the family were invited and we had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of us in our hats.

I love these pictures of Lily sitting in the grass, she is so darn cute!

New listing

Thanks to my friend Jeri, I got a new listing last week. It is a nice multi level home in PG for $300k. It is actually the home Joe and Jeri were going to buy before we found them the home that they are in; which I must say, fits their family a lot better. This home is very nice though and I am so grateful for the referral, so if you know of anyone looking, let me know.

Memorial Day Shopping Spree

I have been wanting a bright red sectional couch that I saw at RC Willey almost a year ago. I have just been waiting and waiting to get paid. But as you all know RC Willey has a huge sale on Memorial Day, and I was sick of waiting on AllPro. So we just took some money out of savings and went and bought the Tomato Red Couch. It was on back order so look for pictures in about another week. I am so excited to get rid of our couch covered 80's couches. This sectional will take up way less space and it will be fun to add some color to our family room.

But that was not all the shopping we did. Jon bought me a new camera for my Birthday. I finally decided on one, It is the Canon IS S5. It was also on back order, but I got it on Friday. I haven't figured out half of the features but I have had it for 2 days and I have some pretty nice pictures. I can not believe the difference in quality from our Kodak to this camera. It is amazing. I love this camera. Check out these pretty flowers that are growing in our yard. I know it is wierd that I am obsessed with the plants in our yard, but I didn't plant any of them and this is my first year watching everything bloom. It is fun.

So what's it gonna be?

Wow, this last week went by so fast. I can not believe I didn't blog at all last week. So let's start with last Sunday. We had to go to Santaquin because my Dad was getting a new calling, obviously an important one because they wanted all the kids to be there. So we kept asking, "Well, what's it gonna be?" Drum roll........My dad is the new Bishop of our home ward in Santaquin. Him and my mom are a little overwhelmed as you can imagine, but I have to say I think he will be the best bishop there ever was. He is the most loving, patient wonderful Dad, so he will be a great father of their ward, I just know it. And as for my mom, she has always been completely understanding of all of my dad's callings, even if they take up all of his time. They will be a great team during this time consuming calling. I didn't think my parents could get any busier, but never say never.

No longer a milk machine

I decided to stop nursing Lily last Saturday. After about 3 days I was in so much pain I let her eat for just two minutes, and now one week later I am milk free. Yeah, no more milk stains or time constraints. No really, I love nursing and I just felt like this was a natural process with Lily. She is now 11 months old and eating three meals a day and I was only nursing her 2 to 3 times a day anyways. It was such a fight with Calvin. He never really liked to nurse and so I went until about 8 months but I never had enough milk because he just didn't like to cuddle, he liked drinking a bottle and looking around. I have had two totally different experiences and nursing is a wonderful thing but it sure does feel good to be free again.
