Lily's Preschool Graduation videos

Lily's Preschool Graduation

Lily is done with her first year of preschool. She really loved going to Miss Janae's a couple times a week and she is excited to go back next year. She learned her numbers 1-10. Her colors and shapes. She also learned how to sort. She knows her letters and there sounds pretty well. She is a social bug and loves to play with the kids in class and Miss Janae said that she always listens to instruction and she is always nice to everyone. Her program was really cute. They learned songs about colors and sang them to their families. Her program was on my birthday. We went out to pizza and ice cream to celebrate both. It was May 27th and it was pretty cold and rainy, look at my mom and Ava all bundled up. The weather sure has been cold this spring.

Calvin's Kindergarten Graduation

I can't believe Calvin is done with Kindergarten. He loved Kindergarten and so did I. I loved that he was only gone for a few hours each day and I loved helping in his class. He was always having fun and excited to go to school. He learned how to read this year. He can read really well, he was on level D at the end of the school year. He loves writing stories and his teacher said that he was the best writer in the class. She said he was a writing machine, he would write at least a page a day in his journal each morning and draw a picture to go with the story. I need to take a picture of his journal and post some of his stories. His program was really fun to watch. I am having a really hard time thinking about sending him to first grade. I don't want him to be gone all day. It is so sad for me to think about not having him here to eat lunch and talk to me. And Lily is going to be so lonely. Her best friend is going to be gone for most of the day. Oh man, do I have to send him? He is growing up so fast.

Okay, chop it off!

After Ava's first birthday, I decided to get her hair cut. She had a mullet but I couldn't cut it before because it was just crazy how long her hair was for being a little baby. I took her to my hair dresser and Lily and I got our hair cut too. Here are some before and after pictures and sorry they are in a really random order, the computer will not let me move them. I love her cute little bob haircut. It looks adorable on her.

One is fun!

This post is all about Ava at 12 months old. Ava turned 1 on May 10th. I took these pictures of her and we had such a blast dressing her up and making her smile. I love the one with the hat because it shows how she was tired and needed a break after all of that modeling. I wish I could make her sign some sort of contract that says she can not grow up until I am ready. Unfortunately, I can't. But she does get more and more fun everyday!
Ava is such a fun girl. She is full of personality. She knows what she wants and she is not afraid to raise her voice and tell us. She loves to crawl around and explore. She follows Lily and Calvin everywhere, but she does not like when they touch her and she tells them so. Ava can destroy a clean kitchen in 2 minutes. She loves to pull everything out of the drawers, cupboards, and pantry. She loves to throw and smear food everywhere. She likes to feed herself, which I don't love, but I give in to her request because she really wants to hold her spoon. Ava talks gibberish and we love it, she can get us all laughing. She can say a few real words like, mama, dada, uh-oh, baba. She loves to give hugs and kisses and she is really a mamma's girl right now. She walks around furniture but she is too scared to let go right now. She is a great sleeper, usually 7:30 pm-7:30 am, with one 3 hour nap in the middle of the day. She loves taking baths and playing in the water with Lily, we leave the tap on a little and she will fill her toys up and dump them out. If I would let her she would stay outside all day long. She loves being outside but she doesn't love crawling in the grass, so she does the stink bug crawl on her hands and feet with her rump in the air. I love watching her crawl like that. She will be walking really soon. One of my favorite things about Ava is that she claps at everything that she likes. She is a happy spunky little girl and we love her!
At her 1 year Doctor's checkup she weighed 20 lbs 5 oz 34th% and she was 30 1/2 inches 87th%.

The Hogle Zoo

On Ava's birthday we went to the zoo with Greyson, Domi and Tyler. Ava loved the monkeys, so did I, we could have sat and laughed at them all day. Calvin thought the zoo was stinky. But we did get a kick out of the giraffe who wouldn't stop licking the door frame. The kids liked the playground and the train the best. It was a little disappointing because it was kind of cold and because we didn't get to see the elephants. But we did have fun. After the zoo we went out to dinner at Buca di Beppo and we had a very good time. The food was excellent, Ava couldn't get enough of the pasta. She loved it. We want to go back there and try some more of their yummy food.
