Cute wedding pictures

BreAnna got her wedding pictures back and the photographer took some cute pictures of our family. Calvin looks adorable in his tux and the kids are so cute sitting on the bridge, I just had to share these pictures.

This is a picture of my family. All of my brothers and sisters-in-law and grandma except for Travis who is on his mission in Mexico (coming home in December!). This is the reason for the grooms man who is holding a picture in front of his face.

Look how strong Calvin is holding up aunt nannies. I love how his tux was undone most of the night because he is so little.

Great podcasts

My visiting teacher from my last ward just sent me a link to her website. She is in the Mrs. Utah pageant for 2009 and is working on getting some publicity. She has this website that links to her photography, music and platform websites www.jensstudio.net She took some great pictures of Calvin and Lily last year so I new that she was a talented photographer but I didn't know that she was so talented musically. I just listened to one of her podcasts and it was really great so if you want to listen to it, I think it will make you smile.

Zoo day

Jon is working weekends now and so we are trying to take advantage of the days he has off by doing fun things like going to the Zoo.

We went to the zoo just so Calvin could see the Elephants. Because all we have heard for weeks is "I want to go see the elephants at the zoo. Elephant starts with L". We actually got to see an elephant show this time, which was kind of fun. Jon's sister Emily came with us and we had a really good time. It was perfect weather and it wasn't crowded at all.

Where did that diaper go?

The other day I was reading my emails and the kids were playing around my feet. I looked over and noticed Lily was standing on the little chair with a naked bum. I asked her where her diaper went and she gave me a big smile. I went and looked all over and couldn't find it. So, I opened the door to the basement, there at the bottom of the stairs I found her diaper. She must have gotten sick of it and chucked it down the stairs to hide it from me. Silly Lily!

The Little White Wedding Chapel

This is where it all started. 31 years ago my parents eloped to Vegas and got married in this Little White Chapel. I just had to go see it while in Vegas and when I went inside I actually teared up. I could just imagine my parents in there scared and excited, about to change there lives forever. I love my parents and what a great family they started so many years ago right here in this little chapel.

Las Vegas

We went to Vegas for Labor Day weekend to celebrate our 6th anniversary(a few weeks late). We had such an amazing time. We probably walked 20 miles, no joke. I even bought $60 shoes ( it almost killed me to spend that much on shoes) because I was getting blisters and I couldn't wear my sandals anymore. I love my new shoes though, they saved our trip and they are so cute.

It was really fun to walk down the strip and go in all of the awesome buildings. I could not believe how huge the hotels were. They were so amazing to look at. I did not like the smoke filled casinos, how can people have such a nasty habit. And I could not believe all of the naked women everywhere, I mean practically naked. It was really degrading. Every where you looked people where handing out pictures of naked girls and there were naked women statues and naked girls dancing and on and on and on. I really felt sick from it. But if you can look past that horrible stuff Vegas has some great things to offer. Like the 2 shows we went to. Mystere was so great, the acrobats did unbelievable things. There were two men lifting each other in crazy ways that would take so much strength our jaws were dropped at how cool it was. And they were doing flips by jumping each other off of a teetor totter. And then Phantom was so incredible. I was memorized the whole time. The opening scene was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I loved the Venetian hotel. That is where Phantom was playing. It was beautiful. These pictures don't do justice for anything in Vegas. But it will give you an idea.

This is in Ceasar's Palace. We walked into one shop there and there was a purse on clearance so I asked how much it was, would you even guess that a normal priced purse would be $1600, let alone a clearance one!

This mock Eiffel Tower was gorgeous, it made me want to go to Paris to see the real one.

This is the Venetian. We are standing on the bridge above where they give gondala rides. This was my favorite place. It was amazing inside and out.

Calvin loves this picture of dad in front of the castle. He wants to go to the castle and I said maybe when he is older. Like married older, there is no way I am taking my kids to Vegas.

And of course the Las Vegas Strip, so fun to walk up and down and see everything.

Here is a video of Lily walking and talking. She is so funny. She walks about 90% of the time now, I love how she says "Hi" at the end.

High School Tag

I have been tagged to talk about my high school years.

1. Did you date someone from your school? Yes, a few different people. But then I met Jon and stopped dating people from school.

2. What kind of car did you drive? A red Mitsubishi Eclipse sports car. I saved money waitressing at Doc's BBQ my whole sophomore year and when I turned sixteen I bought my own car. I loved that car. It had a short shift and it was fun to drive.

3. What was the most embarrassing moment of high school? I don't remember. We acted crazy a lot, my friends and I . We would dress up in all sorts of weird clothes and put on crazy 80's makeup and go around town saying hi to people. I am sure something embarrassing happened at some point. I didn't get embarrassed very easy though.

4. Were you a party animal? What I wrote above was probably the craziest we got.

5. Were you considered a flirt? I would say yes.

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? None of those but ......

7. Were you a nerd? I don't think so but I was in a ton of different things some might consider nerdy like yearbook, seminary counsel, National Honor Society president, Miss Santaquin 1st attendant and some other stuff I don't remember right now.

8. Were you on any varsity teams? Nope.

9. Did you get suspended/ expelled? Never

10. Can you still sing the fight song? I don't think I even knew it back then.

11. Who were your favorite teachers? I had fun in several classes. I like Bro. Troyer, Mr. Howden and Mrs. Bridges.

12. Where did you sit during lunch? Where ever we felt like it. Outside, inside, Taco Time, Wendy's, Hogi Yogi, Little Caesar's, my senior year I would sneak to eat lunch with Jon sometimes.

13. What was your school's full name? Payson High School.

14. School mascot? The Lion.

15. Did you go to Homecoming and who with? I went my Junior year with umm something Stringham. I can't remember his first name. Oh wait, Craig was his name. It snowed in September and we almost got in an accident. None of the girls really liked the guys they were with so the whole night we did girl against boy games. We had a good time though.

16. If you could go back and do it again, would you? I don't think I would do it much different because I had fun. Sometimes I wish I could travel back to those times for a day or two.

17. What do you remember most about graduation? That we got to drive little race cars in the basement of our school for our all-nighter. And I was sad and happy, I knew things were about to change forever.

18. Where did you go for senior skip day? I don't even remember having a senior skip day.

19. Were you in a club? What ever I mentioned above.

20. Have you gained some weight since then? Yes, a little.

21. Who was your prom date? Junior year it was Mike Arrington. He went all out for our date. We went to FastCart (I think that is what it was called) in Salt Lake and drove really fast little dune buggy things. We got lost on the way there and it took like 3 hours to get there. It was worth the drive though. They took us to some way fancy place in Sandy for dinner. It was soooo good. I had a blast with our group even though my date was so scared he didn't say a word to me the whole day. He was even scared to dance. I guess it was his first date or something and he was really nervous. It was funny.

Jon took me to my Senior Prom. We didn't go with a group because we drove straight home from Moab (we were at the Jeep Safari, so for our day date we hiked arches) and got dressed to go to Magleby's for dinner and then to the Prom at the Provo library. Of course we had a great time but my favorite memory of that prom was Jon making up lyrics to all of the songs while we were dancing. I was laughing the whole time we were dancing, people probably thought I was crazy or drunk ( I wasn't).

22. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? Yes, I hope I get an invite.

23. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? Go to more football and basketball games, get out more.
