Stadium of Fire

We decided to go to the Stadium of Fire this year. It is kind of a funny story. In March we went to a Jazz basketball game with Travis and Amy and Amy mentioned that she had never been to a concert and she kind of nudged Travis. That night I called Travis and I told him that we go to see Kenny Chesney every summer but this year we were debating between Kenny and Brad Paisley who was coming to the Stadium of Fire at BYU for the 4th of July. Travis said he wouldn't mind taking Amy to Brad Paisley and he wanted to surprise her. We called everyone else in the family to see who wanted to go and Joe and Jaime wanted to. We bought tickets and we kept it a secret and Travis told Amy on the day of the concert. She was very excited. We ended up taking Calvin and Ambree too. It was so cute to watch Calvin and Ambree dance and get so excited about the loud music.

The Stadium of Fire was awesome. David Archuleta sang some of his songs first and then Brad Paisley sang. Brad is really great on the Guitar and he sounded really good live. The fireworks were amazing. It was so incredibly loud and we even got some firework debris on us. The best part was the firework finale, they had dancers doing a light show inside the stadium and I was trying to pay attention to both the fireworks and the dancers and one of the fireworks was so loud it made the stadium shake and it scared me. It was great.

How grateful we are to live in this beautiful country where we can enjoy our freedom. We are so grateful for all of those who have fought for our country over the years.

Rest time

The kids like to have "Rest time" after lunch everyday. They get to cuddle on the couch and watch a movie together.

Coach Pitch

Calvin did Coach Pitch this summer (it is the step up from T-ball). He had fun with this but didn't enjoy it as much as T-ball. I would practice throwing for him at home and he would hit it 2 out of 3 times but It was a little bit harder for him to hit the ball when the coach would throw it. I think he got nervous with people watching him. It was fun to watch the games and he had a good time with his friends.

Lily is 4

My Lily bug is 4 as of June 22nd. I can hardly believe what a fun, beautiful little girl she is. On her birthday she chose her gifts. She wanted a Lady buy pillow pet and a Fur Real dog. We also went out to eat and went to see RIO at the movie theater. A few things about Lily these day: She runs around like crazy all day. And then the second she sits down she falls right to sleep, in two seconds flat. It is hilarious the positions she fall to sleep in, I have never seen someone be completely asleep and sitting straight up on a seat with no back. She cracks me up. Her energy is contagious. She is a lot of fun to be around. She always wants to play with her friends. She love to cook with me. Especially if I am baking rolls or pizza. Her favorite part is to roll out the dough. And she likes to add ingredients to the kitchen aid and turn it on and watch is "spin". I wish I could explain the facial expressions Lily gives me on a daily bases but I wouldn't do her justice. She can make me laugh just by giving me a certain look. Her favorite color is "lellow", her favorite movie changes on a day to day basis but I think it is Little Mermaid these days, her favorite foods are pizza and burritos but she will eat anything and she loves to try new things. Lily and I have special dates when Calvin is in karate. We usually go try something new at a restaurant or go shopping for something fun. She is a very smart, fun and helpful little girl. We love having her as part of our family.

BreAnna's Baby Shower

I am very excited that my sister is due to have her first baby in July. She is expecting a little boy and I was lucky enough to throw her a baby shower with my mom and sisters in law in my backyard. It was beautiful June weather and we had a good time. She got so many cute things. The blanket she is holding up was made by Nancy, Jon's mom. And the last picture is the outfit I gave her. I was anxious to give her this outfit because she loves dogs and it has a cute little dog and it says I love mommy. How fun it will be to have a new little nephew!
