End of another school year

The last day of school was May 23rd. I love that my kids get out of school before Memorial day. Calvin loved 3rd grade. His teacher was Mrs. Webster and she was fantastic. They were always doing fun things and learning in creative ways. He learned his times tables 1-12 and learned all sorts of stuff in his favorite subjects; science and social studies. Lily's 1st grade teacher was Mrs. Lindley. I was her room mom. She was a sweet teacher and Lily really loved her. I did all of the class parties and I had a lot of fun being in Lily's class so much. Lily is really becoming a good little reader and she loves to learn. This year I taught Ava's preschool, Princess Joy School, along with 6 other moms. I taught every seven weeks. I really enjoyed it and so did Ava. But ee love summer time. I really love when my kids are home and we can do chores in the morning together and then play all day. I hope I feel good enough to do everything I want to do with them this summer. It is a little harder to go to parades and carnivals and lots of activities when I am at the end of my pregnancy but I will do my best. If nothing else, playing in the backyard, running through sprinklers is always fun. And we got a new swing set, well new to us. We bought it from someone and fixed it up. The kids have loved it.

24 wks pregnant

16 weeks left in this pregnancy and today I'm feeling grateful that I still enjoy zumba and yoga. I may look a little funny with my belly dancing around but it is still fun.

Pinewood derby

Jon and I are in charge of the cub scout pinewood derby. We are doing spare tire donuts for dessert. We have some cute decorations. And we made  fun award certificates for all of the boys cars last night. Jon's car is a speed racer from Star Wars. It has a lot of metal in it and he painted it to make it look dirty. It is a pretty cool car. Calvin designed his own car and picked his colors.

Oh my

The other day Ava walked into my bathroom and I said, "Hi monkey."
And stubborn little Ava said : I am not a monkey.
Me: well then what are you?
Ava: I am a person, a girl person, with all the parts. Except I don't have a kickstand because those are only for boys. Cause dad says kickstands are for boys.
Me: do you know what a kickstand is?
Ava: yes, it's that thing boys have to hold on to, to pee. Mom, how do boys poop?

Oh my, she is so matter of fact and it cracks us up.

It's a ....

I am 16 1/2 weeks pregnant and we found out what we are having. We were all so excited, I picked the kids up from school and took them to the ultrasound with me. Calvin and Lily really wanted a brother and Ava really wanted a sister. It was the joke around here that Jon would ask Ava if the baby was going to have a kick stand and Ava would say "no, kickstands are for boys." We were talking about the name Ezra for a boy and Ava said "well, it will have to be Ezri because it's a Girl." She was so convinced, she would always hug my belly and say I know I am having a little sister, I know it was a girl up there." She was referring to heaven and Jon would always say Ava was the last one up there, maybe she knows. So, today was the moment of truth. It was so fun to see the cute little baby wiggling around and see it's cute little hands and feet. And the baby happily showed us the Ava was right. She is a GIRL!! Calvin was a little sad but then he remembered that he gets to hang out with dad all the time. And they can escape the girls by going into their Lego man cave or going on a bike ride. How fun it will be to have another pretty little girl. I can't wait to snuggle her.
