Chalk the block at the Riverwoods

Today we had a big birthday lunch with all of Jon's sisters and his Dad and Wendy at Chili's it was a fun time. And then we went to chalk the block at the river woods in Provo and saw all the artists drawings it was pretty impressive. We also saw a cool Bronco, they are still my favorite older vehicle.

My new work tool

This is my new tool for work. The Microsoft surface tablet. I am still trying to figure it out but it is a nice little machine.

Health challenge

We have been doing an 8 week health challenge that my friend Danielle started. It has been fun. We get points each day for the things in the challenge that we do. No sugar hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be except I miss my dark chocolate and sweet almond milk. I like the excuse to exercise everyday even though it is hard to find the time some days. So far so good we are in our second week and I am really impressed with Jon's dedication. He wants to win the cash prize. I really hope he wins. He is saving up for a 29er bike he has been wanting for a while.

Rough week

We had a rough week around here. Ava got strep throat. Lily got the stomach flu and was puking so much she missed the primary program. It was sad. Then I got the flu. Yuck, I do not throw up easily so I have to endure a lot of pain and nausea before throwing up. Then Ava got sick and threw up in the car seat. I really dislike cleaning throw up out of a child car seat with all the buckles and straps and nooks and crannies. And on top of it I was really busy with work. Which I am so grateful for I just wish we weren't sick at the same time. Oh well, here is to a healthier week ahead.

Food, food, food

Today I made my own Qia cereal. This is our favorite cereal but it's so expensive so I went to the health store and got the stuff to make my own and it was way less expensive. It is our favorite because it gives us energy and fills us up.  And Jon notices a big difference in sustained energy when he eats this before he goes on a bike ride or physical activity. It has chia seeds, hemp seeds, buckwheat groats, almonds, coconut, and something or seen. We mix it with almond milk or yogurt and add a few cranberries on top.

The other thing we like to have in the morning is Crio bru which is ground cocoa beans that you bru like coffee. It is full of antioxidants and Jon and I both feel more alert and focused when we drink this.

I made baked garbanzo beans and kale chips for the first time. I'm not sure if I'll do that again they weren't my favorite.

Tonight for dinner I made spinach pesto pasta which was delicious. And to go along with it I made my mom's homemade breadsticks recipe which I haven't had for a while. She used to make these every Halloween with homemade chili and it was one of my favorite meals.
